Affectionately known as ‘Cookie’, Tony Cook’s affiliation with the ground spreading industry stems back to his boyhood days operating tractor spreaders on his father’s farm.
In the late 70’s Tony started on trucks with the Dibble brothers in Te Awamutu taking up an option to operate a two truck business of his own in 1980. Directly competing with N T Wealleans and the desire of both companies to expand their operations in the Te Awamutu market, resulted in a joint venture partnership being formed in 1991.
Working from its Patarangi Road depot, Tony Cook Groundspread operates a modern fleet of specialised groundspreading vehicles.
Servicing the rural area, expanding in all directions from its Te Awamutu hub, Tony Cook’s wealth of experience in the groundspreading industry, knowledge of the Te Awamutu area and back up support from the Wealleans group ensure when it comes to fertiliser cartage and application, Tony Cook Groundspread is “Number one under the sun!” in this part of the country.
